OVERLAND PARK -- The University of Kansas Edwards Campus has announced the addition of a new Web-based Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program offered by the KU School of Pharmacy. This new non-traditional program offers practicing pharmacists the chance to improve their clinical and administrative skills in order to become more competitive in their field.
According to Jack Fincham, dean of the School of Pharmacy, the program will use distance-learning techniques such as Internet-based teaching, compressed video, videotapes, compact discs and other relevant tools to make completion of the Pharm.D. degree convenient for working pharmacists.
"We are thrilled by this commitment the School of Pharmacy has shown to the pharmacists in this region," says Robert M. Clark, dean of the Edwards Campus. "This degree is directly on target with the Edwards Campus mission of providing programs that are in demand in the state and the region."
Two Web-based classes -- Drug Information and Biostatistics, and Pharmaoeconomics and Outcomes -- will be offered this spring.
Tuition is the same for in- and out-of-state students. For more information about the Pharm.D. program, contact Ronald E.
