POST-ELECTION ROUNDTABLE ASKS: WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
LAWRENCE -- Journalists, politicians and campaign managers will join political scientists from the University of Kansas to discuss the implications of the 1998 elections from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, at the KU Capitol Center, 715 W. 10th in Topeka.
The 1998 Post-Election Roundtable is sponsored by Robert J. Dole Institute for Public Service and Public Policy in Lawrence and the KU Capitol Center in Topeka. This is the third in a series of biennial post-election roundtables.
Panelists will focus on the results of the hotly contested third congressional district race in which Dennis Moore, D-Lenexa, defeated incumbent Vince Snowbarger, R-Olathe. Other topics include the nature of party politics in Kansas in the wake of Gov. Bill Graves' overwhelming primary defeat of David Miller, former Republican party chair; and the future of Kansas policy-making with Graves' reelection.
