OLYMPIAN BILLY MILLS TO SPEAK AT KU
LAWRENCE -- A presentation by Olympic gold-medal winner and University of Kansas graduate Billy Mills will kick off the second annual Symposium on the Recruitment and Retention of Students of Color set for April 16 and 17 at KU.
The symposium, for faculty and administrators who are involved with the recruitment and retention of students of color, both undergraduate and graduate, will be in the Kansas Union.
Other keynote speakers include KU Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway; Nina Patterson, University of Nebraska; John Alderete, past president of Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science and professor at the University of Texas-San Antonio Health Center; and Florida A&M University president Fredrick Humphries.
