The gift to the Kansas University Endowment Association comes from the K.T. Wiedemann Foundation Inc. of Wichita. Douglas Pringle, president of the foundation, wants the gift to assist two deserving prepharmacy students each year.
"We in the school are so very appreciative of this tremendously generous gift provided by the K.T. Wiedemann Foundation to fund prepharmacy scholarships," Fincham said. "It will allow us to continue to attract excellent students into our professional program."
Pringle received his bachelor's degree from KU in 1976. At KU, he was a member of Beta Theta Pi and was selected for Phi Beta Kappa. He is senior vice president and trust officer at Commerce Bank, N.A.
The gift will be administered by the KU Endowment Association, an independent, nonprofit organization serving as the official fund-management foundation for the University of Kansas.
Founded in 1891, the KU Endowment Association is the oldest foundation of its type at a public university in the United States and one of the largest.
