FAMED OBOIST TO PRESENT KU MASTER CLASS

LAWRENCE -- Ray Still, professor of oboe at Northwestern University, will present a master class at the University of Kansas from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 10, in Swarthout Recital Hall in Murphy Hall.

One of the country's most distinguished musicians, Still performed as principal oboist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1954 to 1993. His performance career has led to collaborations with some of the world's foremost musicians, including Fritz Reiner, Sir Georg Solti, Itzhak Perlman and Jascha Heifetz.
