EDWARDS CAMPUS INVITES COMMUNITY TO OPEN HOUSE

OVERLAND PARK -- The University of Kansas Edwards Campus will open its doors to the community from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 18.

During the open house, people interested in continuing their education can learn how to enroll in a single graduate-level course or apply to one of 16 graduate and professional degree programs offered at the campus, located at 126th and Quivira, two miles south of I-435. About 1,800 students are currently enrolled at the Edwards Campus. Most students are in their thirties, work full time and have families.

"We hope people who have dreamed of continuing their education, but thought there were too many obstacles, will visit," Robert M. Clark, dean of KU's Edwards Campus, said. "Times have changed. This is a campus designed for the needs of the working adult."

KU representatives will be available to answer questions and provide information about financial aid, course schedules and preparing for entrance examinations. There will be tours of the campus classrooms, computer labs and library.

For people interested in KU's master of business administration degree, programs will begin at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. April 18. A panel of current and former students, as well as School of Business faculty and staff, will be available to answer questions. The application deadline for the MBA program at the Edwards Campus is May 1.

For more information about the open house or enrollment at the KU Edwards Campus, contact Jessica Welch, graduate recruitment coordinator, at (913) 897-8400, or visit http://vision.rc.ukans.edu.
