11 KU PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION STUDENTS SERVE AS INTERNS

LAWRENCE -- Eleven master's degree candidates in the University of Kansas Edwin O. Stene Department of Public Administration are working as public management interns during the 1998-1999 academic year.

Internships, taken in the last year of the master's degree program, provide field experience in city and county management. Average salary for the internships is $27,888.

U.S. News and World Report's March 1998 edition ranks KU's graduate program in public administration first in city management and urban policy and sixth in public management and administration among U.S. universities. Overall, the program ranks 14th.
