KU THEATRE SCHEDULES SPRING AUDITIONS

LAWRENCE -- The University Theatre will hold auditions for its spring productions at the University of Kansas Jan. 19 through 22 in Murphy Hall. From this round of auditions, cast members will be selected for productions of "The Way of the World" by William Congreve, March 5 through 7 and 11 through 13; "Hidden: A Gender" by Kate Bornstein, April 1 through 3 and 5 through 10; and "Gut Girls" by Sarah Daniels, April 23 through 25 and 29 through May 1.

Audition sign up is from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the Murphy Hall Lobby. All KU students enrolled in six hours or more are eligible to audition.

Auditions are in the Crafton-Preyer Theatre at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, for students with even KUID numbers, and 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, for students with odd ID numbers. Students have two minutes to perform memorized materials showing their range and versatility. Material will be available, but prepared pieces are recommended.

Call back auditions are at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Jan. 21 and 22, in Murphy Hall. Call back sites will be noted on call back lists, which will be posted by noon each day in the Green Room of Murphy Hall.

Cast lists will be posted by noon Monday, Jan. 25, in the Green Room. Additional information about auditions is available by calling the University Theatre at 864-3381.
