KU ENDOWMENT VICE PRESIDENT WINS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD

LAWRENCE -- A longtime executive with the Kansas University Endowment Association in Lawrence will receive a distinuished service award Tuesday night in Kansas City, Mo.

Dale Seuferling, senior vice president for development at KU Endowment, will receive the Distinguished Service Award from District VI of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The honor will be presented as part of an awards dinner during the district's annual conference at the Westin Crown Center. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 19.

The award honors individuals with exemplary service to CASE and District VI, including active involvement in the education advancement profession for a minimum of 10 years, professional employment with CASE VI member institutions for at least eight years, regular attendance at CASE VI meetings and volunteer service to CASE-sponsored conferences, programs and activities.

Seuferling joined CASE in 1977 and served as the District VI program chair in 1989, conference chair in 1995, vice-chair in 1996 and chair in 1997. He was a member of the planning committee for the national CASE Annual Assembly in 1996 and now serves as a member of the CASE Commission on Philanthropy.

A trustee and secretary of the board for KU Endowment, Seuferling graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 1977. He joined KU Endowment in 1981 and became senior vice president for development in 1992. He is a 1973 graduate of Louisburg High School and the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Seuferling of Louisburg.

CASE is an international association offering information resources and training opportunities to education advancement officers, who include alumni administrators, fund raisers, public relations managers, publications editors and government relations officers. CASE District VI, also called the Mid-America District, includes in its membership educational institutions from Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming.

KU Endowment, an independent, nonprofit organization, serves as the official fund-raising and fund-management foundation for the University of Kansas. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is the oldest foundation of its type and one of the largest at a public university in the United States.
