KU ANNOUNCES SPRING 1999 CANDIDATES FOR DEGREES

LAWRENCE -- The names of more than 3,900 candidates for degrees at the University of Kansas this spring have been announced by KU's Registrar's Office.

KU's class of 1999 numbers more than 5,900 and includes more than 2,000 who completed degree work last summer and fall terms. About 4,000 of those in the class of 1999 are expected to participate in the university's 127th commencement processional into Memorial Stadium on Sunday, May 23.

Faculty and graduates will assemble about 2 p.m. along Memorial Drive for the procession that begins at 2:30 p.m. The program begins about 3:30 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, participants should call the KU Information Center, (785) 864-3506, or listen to local radio and television stations to learn the exact time of the commencement ceremony.

The names of graduates are no longer available online. For degree verification, please visit the Office of the Registrar or contact the National Student Clearinghouse at (702) 742-4200. There is a retrieval fee.
