LAWRENCE -- Between 200 and 300 students are expected to attend the tenth annual Social Work Practicum/Career Fair Friday, Nov. 5, in the Kansas Union ballroom at the University of Kansas.
Representatives from about 70 social service agencies in Kansas and Missouri will be available from 1 to 3:30 p.m. to discuss their programs and the career potential or internships they offer. All KU candidates for bachelor's degrees in social welfare complete an academic year in field practicum experience. Master's degree candidates spend two years in field practicum assignments.
Seventy social welfare seniors and 200 master's degree candidates hope to find jobs after graduation in May 2000.
The fair is open to all KU social welfare students and those from other KU schools as well as from other Kansas colleges and universities.
