KU TO JOIN CONFERENCE BY SATELLITE DOWNLINK

LAWRENCE -- Preparations are under way for interested KU faculty to participate by satellite downlink in the sixth annual Michael L. Tilford Conference on Diversity and Multiculturalism in the University Curriculum. KU's link to the conference will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, in 338 Strong Hall.

The conference's speaker will be Edgar Beckham, a senior fellow for the Association of American Colleges and Universities. Prior to his current position, Beckham was with the Ford Foundation. The topic of his presentation is "Preparing Students to Live and Work in a Diverse Global Society."
