KU ENDOWMENT ASSOCIATION BOARD ELECTS NEW TRUSTEES

LAWRENCE -- The Board of Trustees of the Kansas University Endowment Association met for its 108th annual meeting Sunday at the Adams Alumni Center and elected two new trustees to the board.

Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is an independent, nonprofit corporation chartered to raise and manage funds for the University of Kansas. The Board of Trustees is composed of 50 to 75 volunteers and staff members who represent and support KU around the country. Their activities include receiving reports on fund raising and asset management and serving on committees that provide advice and recommendations for KU Endowment programs.

On Sunday, the board elected as new KU Endowment trustees Jeff Johnson of Wichita and H.W. Knapheide III of Quincy, Ill.

Jeff Johnson graduated from KU in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He is an investment consultant at Investment Management and Research in Wichita. At KU, he is a member of the KU Alumni Association and serves on the School of Business Board of Advisors.

H.W. Knapheide received a bachelor's degree in industrial administration/ management from KU in 1967. He is president of the Knapheide Manufacturing Company in Quincy. At KU, he is a Life Member of the Chancellors Club, KU's major-donor organization, and a member of the Hill Society. He serves on the KU School of Business Board of Advisors and is National Alumni Association representative to KU's Athletic Board. During Campaign Kansas, KU's comprehensive fund-raising campaign from 1988 to 1992, he served on the North Central Regional Committee.
