KU TO HOST 'DAY OF DANCE' OCT. 2

LAWRENCE -- The annual "Day of Dance" at the University of Kansas, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 2, offers free ballet, jazz and modern dance classes for junior and senior high school students from the region.

Members of the KU dance faculty will conduct classes from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Studios 240 and 242 of Robinson Center. Participants should enter Robinson at the north entrance on Sunnyside Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

Classes being offered this year include Intermediate/Advanced Ballet, taught by Patrick Suzeau; Beginning/Intermediate Modern, taught by Janet Hamburg; Intermediate/Advanced Jazz, taught by Willie Lenoir; Beginning/Intermediate Ballet, taught by Jerel Hilding; Dance Improvisation, taught by Muriel Cohan; and Beginning/Intermediate Jazz, taught by Lenoir.

Although dance classes are free, advanced registration is required and classes are limited in number. To register for the "Day of Dance," contact the KU Dance division at (785) 864-4264.
