Congressman Dennis Moore, D-Kan., will visit the Natural History Museum at the University of Kansas to view a demonstration of Internet2 technologies this Friday. Museum director Leonard Krishtalka will show Moore how "Species Analyst," web software developed at KU for the Internet2, is helping scientists gain access to multiple databases across the world in real-time speed. The software also enables scientists to make accurate predictions of global climate changes as well as models for predicting invasive species.
The Internet2 demonstration will take place on a large plasma screen monitor, about 3 feet wide, making it easier for photographers.
KU Provost David Shulenberger will be in attendance as well.
The demonstration will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, in Room 602 of the Natural History Museum on the KU campus.
