New KU garage open for football parking

LAWRENCE - KU football fans are welcome at the school's newest parking garage. Parking in the new garage, 1261 Oread Ave., will be available for $10 per vehicle on Jayhawk football game days.

The new $7.5 million garage - just north of the Kansas Union - is ideally situated near Memorial Stadium. Drivers can enter the facility from Mississippi Street on the west or Oread Avenue on the east.

The garage has 818 spaces. Garage permits sold to faculty, staff and students will not be valid on game days: Sept. 16 and 23; Oct. 7, 21 and 28; and Nov. 11.
