Anderson Chandler Lecture Series.

p.m. Oct. 18 at Bricker Auditorium in Budig Hall. His remarks will be
followed by a question-and-answer session. The event is free and open to the

Named publisher of Forbes in July 1998, Karlgaard joined Forbes in 1992 to
start Forbes ASAP, a bimonthly magazine covering the major trends and
implications of the digital age. While editing ASAP, Karlgaard worked with

F. Buckley, William Gibson and Kurt Vonnegut.
Before starting ASAP, Karlgaard co-founded and edited Upside magazine, a
monthly publication covering the computer industry and high-tech
investments.
In 1997, as a hobby, Karlgaard co-founded garage.com with Guy Kawasaki and
Craig Johnson. Garage.com is the leading Web-based startup capital firm in
the world, whose investors include Compaq chairman Ben Rosen. Karlgaard
remains a board member of garage.com.
Karlgaard is a regular guest on CNN/FN's "Digital Jam" and an acclaimed
industry speaker, and has written several Manager's Journal columns for the
Wall Street Journal. In 1998, he was named to Upside magazine's Elite 100 in
the computer and communications industries.
Karlgaard is a graduate of Stanford University.
The Anderson Chandler Lecture Series is made possible by the gift of
Anderson Chandler and his late wife, Patricia. Their contribution
established the Anderson Chandler Lecture Fund at the KU Endowment
Association. The series was established to bring nationally and
internationally known speakers to KU for a public lecture, classroom
appearances and interaction with students.
