LAWRENCE - Students from six Kansas high schools will be honored Monday, Oct. 16, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
The students, seniors from Johnson County, will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program and reception at Olathe South High School, 1640 E. 151st, Olathe.
Honorees' names are listed below.
Stephen McAllister, dean of law, will speak. Alumni Association representative Michon Lichteig Quick, director of Rock Chalk Society and greater Kansas City area programs, is in charge of award presentations.
Elaine and Mark Corder, Olathe, are site coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 76,000 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
