LAWRENCE-- Students from eight Kansas high schools will be honored Tuesday, Oct. 24, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
The students, seniors from Johnson County, will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program and reception at Blue Valley North High School, 12200 Lamar, Overland Park.
Honorees' names are listed below.
Carl E. Locke Jr., dean of the School of Engineering, will speak. Alumni Association representative Michon Lickteig Quick, director for Rock Chalk Society and greater Kansas City area programs, is in charge of award presentations.
Bill and Anne Blessing, Leawood, are site coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 76,000 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
