LAWRENCE - Students from nine Kansas high schools will be honored Monday, Sept. 25, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
The students, seniors from Sedgwick County, will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a dinner program at 6:30 p.m. at Goddard High School, 2500 S. 199th St. W., Goddard.
David Holmes, professor of psychology, will speak. Alumni Association representative Bryan Greve, director of Adams Alumni services and Jayhawk Society membership, is in charge of award presentations.
The program will cost parents and alumni $7.50 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and the Endowment Association. Rachel and Jason Purdy, Wichita, and Nick and Naomi Ard, Maize, are the alumni committee.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 76,000 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
