Mother of slain KU student to meet privately with Costa Rican president

LAWRENCE -- Jeanette Stauffer, mother of murdered University of Kansas student Shannon Martin, will meet privately with Costa Rican President Miguel Angel Rodriguez. in Washington, D.C., Friday morning.

Other senior representatives of the Costa Rican government, including ambassador Jaime Daremblum, may also be present at the meeting. Mrs. Stauffer will be accompanied by Robert Woody, a KU representative.

The university requested the meeting. Officials hope it will be useful for both Mrs. Stauffer and President Rodriguez.
