LAWRENCE -- Rick Snyder, M. Erik Wright distinguished professor of clinical psychology at the University of Kansas, received this year's Byron T. Shutz Award for Distinguished Teaching.
Snyder will give his public lecture at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, in Alderson Auditorium at the Kansas Union. The lecture, "Hope for Teaching," will focus on instilling hope in students.
In addition to receiving the Shutz Award, Snyder was selected by the Council for Advancement and Support of Educators as the 2001 Kansas Professor of the Year, and KU named Snyder as the M. Erik Wright Distinguished Professor in Clinical Psychology.
