KU to honor high school students at Blue Valley

LAWRENCE -- Students from nine Kansas high schools will be honored Tuesday, Oct. 23, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.

The students, seniors from Johnson County, will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 7 p.m. program and reception at the Blue Valley Northwest High School, 13260 Switzer, Overland Park.

Honorees' names are listed below.

William Fuerst, dean of the School of Business, will speak. Alumni Association representative Kelly Kidwell, assistant director of chapter and constituent programs, is in charge of award presentations.

William and Anne Blessing, Leawood, are site coordinators.

The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 79,500 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
