Gallery to feature prairie-inspired glass work

LAWRENCE -- Kansas native Vernon Brejcha exhibits his prairie-inspired glass artwork in the KU Art and Design Gallery Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Nov. 2.

Brejcha is a professor in the Department of Design, where he emphasizes how fine craftsmanship advances the communication of ideas. "I'm a storyteller," says Brejcha. "My art is about life, passion and the wonders of nature."

Brejcha's glass work is included in more than 40 major museum and public collections, including the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Museum of Contemporary Crafts in New York City, The Kunstmuseum in Dusseldorf, Germany, and the Corning Museum of Glass in upstate New York.

Admission to the KU Art and Design Gallery is free. The gallery is on the third floor of the Art and Design Building on campus, located at the northeast corner of 15th Street and Naismith Drive.
