LAWRENCE -- The Board of Trustees of the Kansas University Endowment Association met for its 110th annual meeting today at KU Endowment headquarters and elected four new trustees to the board.
Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is an independent, non-profit corporation chartered to raise, manage and disburse funds for the University of Kansas. The board is composed of up to 75 trustees who represent and support KU around the country. Their duties include reviewing reports on fund raising and asset management and serving on committees that provide recommendations for KU Endowment activities.
The board elected as new KU Endowment trustees Janet Martin McKinney of Port Ludlow, Wash.; Robert D. Taylor of Andover; David C. Wysong of Mission Hills; and Danny Manning of Lawrence.
Janet Martin McKinney graduated from KU in 1974 with a bachelor's degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She is president and chief operating officer of Martin Tractor Company. Martin McKinney serves as chair of the Kansas Alumni Association's national board of directors and executive committee; she also has served on a number of committees for the alumni association. She is a member of the Chancellors Club, KU's major-donor organization, and the Elizabeth M. Watkins Society, which honors donors who have developed estate plans or other deferred gift arrangements that ultimately will benefit KU.
Robert D. Taylor is president and chief operating officer of Executive Aircraft Corp. He graduated from KU in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He has served on the KU School of Business Board of Advisors and is a life member of the Chancellors Club.
David C. Wysong is owner of Wysong Capital Management. He graduated from KU in 1972 with a bachelor's degree in journalism. He currently serves on the steering committee and the communications committee for KU First: Invest in Excellence, KU Endowment's third and largest comprehensive fund-raising campaign for the university. During Campaign Kansas, KU Endowment's second comprehensive fund-raising campaign, which ran from 1987 to 1992, he served on three committees. He is a life member of the Chancellors Club.
Danny Manning is a professional basketball player with the Dallas Mavericks. He was a member of the KU men's basketball team that won the 1988 NCAA Championship, and he graduated from KU in 1992 with a bachelor's degree from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He is a life member of the Kansas Alumni Association.
The Kansas University Endowment Association is an independent, non-profit organization serving as the official fund-raising and fund-management organization for the University of Kansas. Founded in 1891, KU Endowment is the first foundation of its kind at a U.S. public university and one of the largest.
