WHAT: The University of Kansas' first ever Open House this weekend will feature a wide range of fun and informative activities for the whole family.
WHEN: From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6 on the KU campus.
DETAILS:
Many academic departments at the university will give tours and display student work.
Parking is free and shuttle buses will be available on campus.
Among the highlights of the scheduled events are:
Halloween costume sale at the Inge Theatre from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Former KU standout and current basketball administrative assistant Jerod Haase will conduct a free basketball clinic for kids ages 8-14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Allen Fieldhouse.
The Spencer Museum of Art is sponsoring "Ask the Art Experts." Like "Antique Roadshow," visitors can bring their artwork to have it examined by museum curators.
The School of Engineering will display a Formula One race car, concrete canoes andspace hardware.
Chancellor Robert Hemenway and Janet Murguia, Executive Vice Chancellor for University Relations will lead the first Hispanic Heritage Month parade through campus. The parade will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Jayhawk Blvd.
