KU law student receives national Lambda Chi Alpha graduate fellowship

LAWRENCE -- A University of Kansas first-year law student is the recipient of a national Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundational graduate fellowship for the 2001-2002 academic year.

Robert Hingula, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hingula of Leavenworth, was one of 20 graduate students nationwide to receive the fellowship worth $1,750. Lambda Chi Alpha awarded $100,000 in graduate and undergraduate scholarships for 2001-2002.

Hingula earned a May 2001 bachelor's degree from KU in psychology and crime and delinquency studies. As a member of the KU chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha, Hingula served as recruitment and social chair and historian. He was a ROTC executive officer at KU.

Lambda Chi Alpha International Fraternity is one of the largest men's social fraternities in North America with more than 227,000 initiated members and chapters at more than 300 universities.

The Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation was established in to serve as an independent entity affiliated with the fraternity and dedicated exclusively to public, charitable and educational purposes.
