KU student president, senators to raise $25,000 for relief funds

LAWRENCE -- Beginning 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, Justin Mills, Student Body President of the University of Kansas, will begin a 48-hour camp out on campus in an effort to raise money for relief for victims of the tragic events of Sept. 11.

Mills along with other members of the KU Student Senate will be present on Wescoe Beach along Jayhawk Blvd. at the heart of the KU campus from Tuesday through Thursday to take donations personally. Their goal is to raise $25,000 for victim relief. That amount is approximately one dollar from every student on the KU-Lawrence campus.

Mills said, "We felt that this is the least we could do to help those who've been affected by this tragedy."

Anyone who wishes to donate is encouraged to stop by and see Mills or to call (785) 864-3710.
