9 KU political scientists offer public forum on responding to terrorism

LAWRENCE --Nine members of the political science department at the University of Kansas will give brief talks in a special public forum from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, in Woodruff Auditorium of the Kansas Union.

Question and answer sessions will follow the nine presentations.

The political scientists and their topics include
 • Lorraine Bayard de Volo, assistant professor, "Mobilizing a nation to war"
 • Paul D'Anieri, associate dean of international programs, "Long term international repercussions of a war against terrorism"

 • Ronald A. "Ron" Francisco, professor, "Can anti-terrorist policies work?"

 • Don Haider-Markel, assistant professor, "Extremism and historical impositions on civil liberties"
