LAWRENCE -- Two booksignings by local authors have been announced by the Mt. Oread Bookshop in the KU Union at the University of Kansas.
3 - 4:30 pm, Thursday Sept. 6.
4 - 5 p.m., Thursday Sept. 13.
Booksignings will be in the Mt. Oread Bookshop, located in the Kansas Union, Level 2. Both events are free and open to the public.
Michael H. Crawford, KU professor of anthropology, will sign two recent scholarly works: "The Origins of Native Americans - Evidence from Anthropological Genetics," published by Cambridge University Press, and the edited volume "Different Seasons - Biological Aging among the Mennonites of the Midwestern United States," University of Kansas Publications in Anthropology Series, Number 21.
Thomas Fox Averill, Washburn University professor of English and writer-in-residence, will sign his new novel "Secrets of the Tsil Cafe", published by Blue Hen Books/Penguin Putnam. The book is a coming-of-age story set amidst multicultural family restaurant/catering businesses and filled with food lore and recipes.
