KU Snyder Book Collecting Contest winners announced

LAWRENCE -- The winners of this year's Snyder Book Collecting Contest were honored in a ceremony April 16 at the University of Kansas.
The contest, which was open to all KU students and included both undergraduate and graduate divisions, attracted 26 entries.
The winners from each division, the name of their entries and home addresses are:

Undergraduate division

First prize: Jeremy Engels, "American Pragmatism," 5000 Clinton Parkway, Apt. 1413
Second prize: Ian Lewis, "Science Fiction Pulp Magazines," 1515 Engel Road, #403

Honorable mentions
Sarah Hill, "Science and Society," G4 Regency Place
Paul Statler, "Politics and Life," 213-2 Hanover Place

Graduate division

First prize: Resha Cardone, "Clandestine Publications," 1026 New Jersey St.
Second prize: Christine Robinson, "In Their Own Words," 1424 Kentucky St.

Honorable mentions
J. Gregory Brister, "Modern Library Collection," 2306 Ranch Way
Mark Clay Willcoxon, "Perspectives on Russia," 2320 Brett Drive

The winner of each division received an $850 prize, which included a $100 gift certificate from Mount Oread Bookshop in the Kansas Union. Second-place winners received a $500 prize, which included a $50 gift certificate.
