Lyon Opera Ballet to perform at Lied Center April 30

LAWRENCE -- The Lied Center of Kansas World Series presents the Lyon Opera Ballet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30.

The 14-city North American tour offers a series of ballets that underscore the 27-member company's well-known commitment to the contemporary and the cutting edge. The program will include the U.S. premiere of Finnish choreographer Tero Saarinen's "Gaspard," which is set to Ravel's "Gaspard de la Nuit."

 • 10:45 a.m.-12:20 p.m. Monday, April 29: The company will present an advanced ballet class with the University of Kansas dance department.
 • Artists' talkback will follow the show.
