Teatro Lirico D'Europa to perform Verdi's Rigoletto at Lied March 10

LAWRENCE -- The Lied Center of Kansas Concert Series and the Hereford House present Teatro Lirico D'Europa at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 10. The acclaimed opera company will perform Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto.

Rigoletto takes place during the 1500s in Mantua, Italy, and tells the story of the flirtations of the Duke of Mantua, the arrogance of his hunchback court jester Rigoletto, and the accidental death of Rigoletto's daughter Gilda.

Education residency information:  • Monday, March 4 -- Several area high school students will participate in Critic's Corner. Students will receive high school credit for attending a lecture about the evening's program and writing a review of the performance.
