LAWRENCE -- The Lied Center of Kansas Concert Series and the Hereford House present Teatro Lirico D'Europa at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 10. The acclaimed opera company will perform Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto.
Rigoletto takes place during the 1500s in Mantua, Italy, and tells the story of the flirtations of the Duke of Mantua, the arrogance of his hunchback court jester Rigoletto, and the accidental death of Rigoletto's daughter Gilda.
Education residency information: Monday, March 4 -- Several area high school students will participate in Critic's Corner. Students will receive high school credit for attending a lecture about the evening's program and writing a review of the performance.

Ticket prices are: public $38 and $32; KU and Haskell students and children (up to 18 years of age) $19 and $16; senior citizens (62 and over) $37 and $31.
Lied Center facilities, parking and front-of-house staff are fully prepared to accommodate patrons with special needs. The Lied Center has barrier-free entrances, and wheelchair locations are available on all levels of the performance hall. Free headsets are available for people requiring hearing-assistance or audio-description devices. Please show photo identification when reserving the headset. Braille and larger-print programs are also available. Please contact our ticket office at least two weeks before the event to make arrangements for these special programs. Audio description services and recorded program notes are provided through a partnership between the Lied Center and Audio-Reader Network.
