KU to honor Crawford County high school seniors at Pittsburg

LAWRENCE -- Students from six Kansas high schools will be honored Monday, March 4, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.

The students, seniors from Crawford County, will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 6:30 p.m. dinner program at the Pittsburg State University Crimson and Gold Room, Jack Overman Student Center, Pittsburg.

Honorees' names are below.

Diana Bartelli Carlin, dean of the Graduate School and International Programs, will speak. Alumni Association representative Bryan Greve, director of Adams Alumni Center services and Jayhawk Society membership, is in charge of award presentations.

The program will cost parents and alumni $9 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and the Endowment Association.

Nancy Hoff Scott, Pittsburg, is the site coordinator. Rodney and Karen Odgers, Pittsburg, are the coordinators for Crawford County.

The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 79,500 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
