LAWRENCE -- The 2002 Kansas Economic Policy Conference, "At the Crossroads: Can Kansas Afford Its Future?" has been scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Kansas Union at the University of Kansas.
Following a year of economic turmoil and budgetary controversy, conference participants are expected to take part in the discussions and ask hard questions about the critical issues facing Kansas, such as financing K-16 public education, state revenues, health care and social services, and the general Kansas economic outlook.
Participants may register online at www.kuce.org/app/kepc/.
The annual conference draws business leaders, legislators, state and local policy makers, educators and others interested in analyzing the state's current and projected economic realities. It is presented by the Policy Research Institute at KU and by KU Continuing Education.
