LAWRENCE -- Alumni and friends who follow the Kansas Jayhawks to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament in Madison, Wis., may celebrate at a pre-game rally at 3 p.m. Friday, March 22, at the Madison Concourse Hotel ballroom, 1 West Dayton St.
The Kansas Alumni Association will host the event, which will feature the KU Pep Band and the Spirit Squad at 4 p.m.
Following the rally, the first session of the weekend's games will begin at 6:55 p.m. at the Kohl Center in Madison. In the first game, No. 2 seed Oregon will play No. 6 seed Texas. Kansas, seeded No. 1 in the Midwest, will face No. 4 seed Illinois in the second game of the evening at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Should the Jayhawks advance to the regional final, they would face Oregon or Texas on Sunday, March 24. The pre-game festivities would begin three hours before game time, which will be announced after Friday's games. Sunday's rally also would be in the Madison Concourse Hotel ballroom. The Madison Concourse is the official team hotel.
