Half-day conference to address present condition and future of telecom industry

OVERLAND PARK -- The Center for Management Education, in the University of Kansas School of Business, will be the host of "Telecom Finance and Restructuring New Initiatives for a New World" from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 19, at the Doubletree Hotel, 10100 College Blvd., Overland Park. The cost, which includes lunch, is $50 per person or $450 for 10 people.

SBC Communications CEO and Chairman Edward E. Whitacre Jr. will deliver the keynote address during the luncheon.

Panelists include Thomas W. Hazlett, senior fellow, Manhattan Institute for Policy Research; Keith A. Kostuch, senior vice president of strategic planning, Alltel; Art Krause, executive vice president and CFO, Sprint; Richard P. Nespola, founder, president and CEO, The Management Network Group; Scott E. Schubert, executive vice president and CFO, Williams Communications; Dave E. Scott, president and CEO, Birch Telecom.

This unique conference is for telecom executives and managers, investors, analysts, portfolio managers, suppliers to the telecom industry, customers of the telecom industry, regulators at the state and federal level, and academics specializing in telecom issues.
