Wichita senior wins Rubinstein/Mason Award from KU Libraries

LAWRENCE -- Jeff McAdams, graduating senior from Wichita, has received the 2002 Rubinstein/Mason Award from the University of Kansas Libraries.

McAdams, who will receive bachelor's degrees in English and history, has worked as a student assistant in the KU Libraries since 1999. He plans enter the master of library science degree program at Emporia State University in the fall.

The Rubinstein/Mason Award includes a cash prize of $1,000 to support graduate study in librarianship. The award is funded by charitable contributions to the KU Endowment Association.

The Rubinstein/Mason Award honors the late Joseph Rubinstein, first head of the KU Libraries' Department of Special Collections, and Alexandra Mason, Spencer librarian emerita at KU. Preference is given to student applicants whose primary interest is in special collections librarianship and who have been employed as assistants in the KU Libraries.
