MEDIA ADVISORY: KU men's basketball team to appear before state legislators Wednesday

WHO: University of Kansas coach Roy Williams and the 2001-02 men's Jayhawk basketball team.

WHAT: The Jayhawks will receive congratulations from Gov. Bill Graves and be honored for their achievements by the House and Senate of the Kansas State Legislature.

WHEN: Coach Williams and the team will follow this itinerary Wednesday, May 8:

4 p.m.: Meet with Gov. Graves in his office, 212-South.
4:20 p.m.: Proceed to the House chamber, where Rep. Barbara Ballard will lead the Lawrence delegation of Reps. Tom Sloan and Troy Findley in introducing the team.
4:40 p.m.: Proceed to the Senate chamber, where Sen. Sandy Praeger, Lawrence, will present a resolution honoring the Jayhawks.

The 2001-02 KU men's basketball team was the first in the history of the Big 12 to sweep the conference in the regular season and was an NCAA Final Four team.
