LAWRENCE -- Students from 10 Kansas high schools will be honored Tuesday, Nov. 12, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association.
The students, seniors from Shawnee county, will be named Kansas Honor Scholars at a 6:30 p.m. dinner program at the Holiday Inn Holidome, 605 S.W. Fairlawn, Topeka.
Honorees' names are listed below.
Janet Murguia, executive vice chancellor for university relations, will speak. KU Alumni Association President Fred B. Williams is in charge of award presentations.
The program will cost parents and alumni $12.75 each. Honored students will be guests of the Alumni Association and the Endowment Association.
Michael and Marcia Cassidy, Topeka, will serve as the site and county coordinators.
The KU Endowment Association and the KU Alumni Association began sponsoring the Kansas Honors Program in 1971. The program has honored 82,874 students in the top 10 percent of the Kansas high school senior classes.
