KU center to host national conference on peer tutoring, writing Oct. 25 - 27

LAWRENCE --The University of Kansas will host this weekend a joint national conference for 300 college and university writing center directors and peer tutors from more than 23 states.

The National Conference on Peer Tutoring in Writing and the Midwest Writing Centers Association will meet Oct. 25 to 27 in the Kansas Union on KU's Lawrence campus. Participants will offer presentations on the latest theory and practice in writing center work.

The keynote speaker will be Elizabeth Boquet, director of the writing center and associate professor of English at Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn. Boquet, who also is co-editor of the Writing Center Journal, will speak about her experiences working with peer tutors and read excerpts from her new book, "Noise from the Writing Center."
