LAWRENCE -- The Lied Center of Kansas Swarthout Chamber Music Series and the Hereford House present the St. Petersburg String Quartet at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the Lied Center at the University of Kansas.
This season, the Lied Center of Kansas, KUÿs Center for Russian and East European Studies, the Hall Center for the Humanities, KU Continuing Education, the Department of Slavic Languages and other organizations will participate in the St. Petersburg Tercentenary Celebration. Classes, lectures, discussions, conferences and several performances at the Lied Center will pay tribute to the long cultural and artistic tradition of St. Petersburg, which was founded by Peter the Great in May 1703.
Pre-concert lecture: with Daniel Politoske, KU professor emeritus of music history, and a member of the St. Petersburg String Quartet. 1 p.m. Nov. 24, at Lied Center Oldfather Warm-Up/Dance Studio.

Lied Center facilities, parking and front-of-house staff are fully prepared to accommodate patrons with special needs. The Lied Center has barrier-free entrances, and wheelchair locations are available on all levels of the performance hall. Free headsets are available for people requiring hearing-assistance or audio-description devices. Please show photo identification when reserving the headset.
