KU history professor wins Western History Association Prize for book

LAWRENCE -- Donald Worster, Hall distinguished professor of history at the University of Kansas, has won the 2002 Caughey Western History Association Prize for his book "A River Running West."

s The prize earned Worster a $2,500 award and a certificate from the Western History Association. He will receive the award at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18, during the association's annual banquet and conference in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Last spring, Worster's book also garnered the Byron Caldwell Smith Prize from KU.
