WHAT: U.S. Sen. Sam Brownback will be on the University of Kansas campus this Friday to address an international conference aimed at developing standards for knowledge management systems.
Knowledge management systems include the use of databases, the Internet, intranets and the Web, among other technologies, to store and share knowledge that is relevant to governments, businesses and education.
The conference features delegates from 21 countries, representing the private sector, government and education.
WHEN: 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20
WHERE: KU's Information & Telecommunications Technology Center, at Nichols Hall, 2335 Irving Hill Road on KU's West Campus. Brownback and the forum participants will meet in the first floor atrium of Nichols Hall.
They will receive a tour of research projects at ITTC beginning at 5 p.m.
ITTC will host a dinner in Brownback's honor at 6 p.m. Media are encouraged to attend the tour and the dinner.
