MEDIA ADVISORY: Stadium event for Monday's game (weather permitting)

WHAT: Fans are invited to watch the University of Kansas Jayhawks play for the NCAA national championship on the videoboard at Memorial Stadium. Pregame festivities include a Family Funzone and music by Lawrence's KLZR 105.9 The Lazer. Also: KU basketball highlights, Pep Band, Baby Jay, KU dance team (formerly the Crimson Girls), music and more.

WHEN: Gates open at 7 p.m.; game starts at 8:18 p.m. Monday (weather permitting).

WEATHER: Frigid or inclement weather may force cancellation of the event. University officials will make a decision at 4 p.m. Monday. Media may call (785) 864-7669 after 4 p.m. for a recorded announcement. Do not publish or broadcast this number as it can handle only a limited number of calls at one time.

WHERE: Seating, concessions and restrooms will be available on the west side of the stadium.

MEDIA ROOM: Jayhawks football locker room -- entrance at southwest corner of stadium. (The stadium press level will not be open.) You will find:
 • Data access for photo transmission
 • Phone lines for media use only
 • TV monitor
 • University public relations and public safety spokespeople will be available
 • Pop, water and snacks for media
 • Restrooms

PARKING and STREETS:
 • TV stations using microwave transmission and satellite trucks are encouraged to call Frank Barthell at (785) 864-8869. Microwave trucks may park in a reserved lot just south of the stadium (access by road on stadium's west side).
 • Vehicle access to central campus -- Jayhawk Boulevard, Memorial Drive and Sunflower Road -- will be closed during and after the game. If you are parked on these streets when the closure goes into effect, police will ask you to leave the area. A map is available online at www.jayhawks.ku.edu/roads/closedstreets.html.
 • Media may park in lots on the west side of the stadium. The lots are reserved for media and university staff. Please be prepared to show media ID, particularly if you are in an unmarked vehicle.

CAMPUS:
 • NO ALCOHOL is allowed on campus or in Memorial Stadium. No tailgating with alcohol will be permitted. There will be enhanced law enforcement.
