Chancellor's statement on death of KU student from Sioux Falls, S.D.

Chancellor Robert E. Hemenway made the following statement in response to the death Saturday, Aug. 9, of 19-year-old Lindsey Masterson of Sioux Falls, S.D. She had planned to attend the University of Kansas this fall as a freshman.

"Our hearts go out to the parents, family and friends of Lindsey Masterson, who was so full of promise. The terrible tragedy of this loss affects us all. On behalf of the entire University of Kansas community, I offer our deepest condolences."
