KU awards more than 5,200 scholarships totaling more than $10.2 million

LAWRENCE -- The names of more than 5,200 University of Kansas students who received scholarships from private gifts during the fall 2003 semester have been announced.

Students on the Lawrence and Medical Center campuses have received more than 7,650 scholarships totaling more than $10.2 million from funds administered by the KU Endowment Association. The average amount of scholarship support received per recipient was nearly $1,400. The largest single amount awarded was $9,800. Students often receive more than one scholarship.

A listing of students and the scholarships they received is available online. Students are listed from 98 of Kansas' 105 counties. None are listed for Clark, Edwards, Elk, Haskell, Lane, Lincoln and Stanton counties.
