Campus office hours change for KU's winter break

LAWRENCE -- The University of Kansas' winter break began Saturday, Dec. 20, and will end Friday, Jan. 23. Hours for campus buildings will be adjusted accordingly.

Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 19 are state-recognized holidays; all offices will be closed those days.

The memorial unions have varied hours of operation during the break.

Kansas Union building hours are: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 22-24; closed Dec. 25; 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 26; closed Dec. 27-28; 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 29-31; closed Jan. 1; 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 2-3; noon-5 p.m. Jan. 4; Jan. 5-18: 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Sat., noon-5 p.m. Sun.; 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 19; 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Jan. 20-23.

Burge Union building hours are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 22-24; closed Dec. 25; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 26; closed Dec. 27-28; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 29-31; closed Jan. 1; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 2-3; closed Jan. 4; Jan. 5-18: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat. and noon-5 p.m. Sun.; 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 19; 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Jan. 20-23.

The campus libraries and computer labs also will have varied hours of operation.

Anschutz Library's hours through Jan. 20 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. Sundays; closed Dec. 25 and 26 and Jan. 1 and 19.

Murphy Art and Architecture Library's hours through Jan. 20 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday; noon-5 p.m. Jan. 12; closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 and 19.

The Gorton Music and Dance Library's hours through Jan. 20 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; closed Saturday and Sunday; closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 and 19.

The Spahr Engineering Library's hours through Jan. 20 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; closed Saturday and Sunday; closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 and 19.

The Kenneth Spencer Research Library's hours are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday, closed Sunday; closed Dec. 25-27 and Jan. 1, 3, 10, 17 and 19.

Watson Library's hours through Jan. 20 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday, 1-5 p.m. Sunday; closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 and 19.

The Wheat Law Library's hours through Jan. 20 are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday; closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1 and 19.

Hours at the Herb Harris computer lab in the Kansas Union are: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 22-24; closed Dec. 25; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 26; closed Dec. 27-28; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 29-31; closed Jan. 1; 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 2-3; noon-5 p.m. Jan. 4. For more hours, call 864-0218.

Hours at the Budig Hall computer lab through Jan. 22 are: 8 a.m.-midnight daily; closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. For more hours, call 864-0161.

All residence halls except McCollum Hall are closed until 8 a.m. Jan. 20. No meals will be served at the dining centers during the break.

The Natural History Museum will be closed Dec. 24-26 and Jan. 1, and the Spencer Museum of Art will be closed Dec. 25-26 and Jan. 1.

The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
