KU dean among Ebony magazine's 'Nine Special Women'

LAWRENCE -- University of Kansas School of Fine Arts Dean Toni-Marie Montgomery is featured in the March 2003 edition of Ebony magazine, which recently arrived at newsstands in the area.

Montgomery is included in the story "Sisters in the Spotlight: Nine special women who are making news, making history and making their own statements."

The full-page profile credits Montgomery with making history as the first African-American dean at the University of Kansas and at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Montgomery has been appointed dean of the Northwestern University School of Music effective July 1.
