LAWRENCE -- About two dozen representatives of the University of Kansas' 1,700 state unclassified nonfaculty employees will meet with legislators Tuesday to raise awareness of the important contributions of unclassified employees.
The employees, members of the Unclassified Professional Staff Association, also will focus on the importance of higher education funding and will encourage legislators to support Kansas Board of Regents proposals, such as no additional cuts, a 6 percent block grant increase, full funding of Senate Bill 345 and implementation of regulatory reform.
Earlier this year about 10 members of the KU Classified Senate, representing approximately 1,600 classified employees on the Lawrence campus, visited the Capitol.
